I have been super busy "whipping up" some CKC outfits!  Again, I am completely AMAZED at how easy I am able to sew these items up.  It is definitely the pattern designers who are so completely AMAZING!  Their patterns have nothing on regular paper patterns!  They are in a class by themselves!  I mean I made a jacket for crying out loud!  A Jacket!  OUTERWEAR!  I guess you don't realize how scared I was of this pattern.  Love it!  Looks great on the ordering page...didn't think I could pull it off.  Guess what!  I DID!  I had hoped to give this to the Bug for Christmas.  She adores elephants, for those of you who do not know about her obsession.  So I thought what a great gift!  Also, free winter advertisement!  Who else is sporting an elephant jacket???  Are you???  I bet you are not!  Anyway, I didn't get the jacket done in time for Christmas as you can tell.  I literally cut half of the fabric before Christmas and then put it on the back burner. Yesterday, I finished sewing a cardinal dress from the day before, Memma's Princess and the Frog smocked peasant dress, a Winnie the Pooh inspired peasant tunic, and the elephant Jacket :)  Whew!  I have a friend photographing her outfits this week so I will have more picts of the other items to post.  I just HAD to show off my favorites :)  I also was chosen to "test" a pattern for CKC so I'm literally on cloud 10 right now.  They also have a contest running for a mash up dress.  That mash up dress will be along the photographed as well.  I stuck with something simple and it is nothing compared to some of the other entries!  They are beautiful!  I'm trying to venture out of my comfort zone, though :)  Great things are happening at MP!!!

It seems my family has been having some "duh-huh" moments here lately.  This year isn't starting off like I had planned but I intend to make the most of it.  Take for example these cute little "One Change Diaper Bag" to the left over there.  Duh!!!  They are super simple to make and what a simple solution for diaper changing!!!!!  I use to just throw a diaper and thin wipes package in my purse back when my babies were babies.  This would have made it so much easier!!  It can hold everything you need for a diaper change...diaper, wipes, disposable changing mat, hand sanitizer, a toy, and butt paste :)

I have a few friends and family who are expecting babies this year, so if you are reading this...SURPRISE!  Here is your gift!!!  Hope you like it!  Just have to remember to refill them.  Unfortunately, I don't have a simple solution for remembering those things.  I still forget lots of things.  Funny how after having a baby (and it only takes one) to never remember anything....ever...again.

Here is my etsy listing if you want me to make some for you :)

They can also be used for other things, I'm sure.  I will probably make some in fleece to fit my son's DS at some point.  Happy New Year!!  Now let's tone down the "duh-huh" please 2013!!!

I have been completely swept up in the mix of things.  I have been working on some adorable outfits for customers.  True labors of love!  I can't believe Christmas is almost here and some of those adorable items will be included in friends, family, and complete stranger's festivities :)  Makes me smile!
I love snowmen decorations best.  I don't have a collection or anything but those are my favorite :)  Here is a sample of some snowman items I made recently....

Today's creation...not snow or Christmas related at all!!  But a very special birthday cake for a sweet little boy.  I'm not really great at free-handing but I thought I did a pretty good job on this one.  I hope things start to slow down some at my house.  In light of recent events...I really want to enjoy my kiddos more than I have recently.  They are after all my driving force to create and reason behind starting this little business :)  Sweet babies!!  Hoping to post some holiday pictures soon!!!!  Until then....

So, I have decided to have a "Fun Friday" sale every Friday :)  This week's feature is the Mystery Bag of hair goodies.  Let's face it.  I make stuff ALL THE TIME!  More than my own child is ever going to wear.  Of course, she wants to keep all of it for herself but that just isn't going to happen.  When I am sitting down to create, she is generally right there investigating.  Every now and then I hear "Is that for me, Mommy?"  I have finally given in and agreed to let her "shop" after the Fall Festival tomorrow.  She can pick what she wants that didn't sell.  The look on her face was priceless!  I know what she has been eyeing.  I'm hoping we can make it into a learning experience.  I might actually give her a few dollars for her to make her purchases.  I know it's just the same as me making it for her, but I really want my kids to understand the value of a dollar.  I'm hoping that they will remember all of the hours and hard work I have poured into my little business so that they can have the "extras". They do help with packaging, cleaning up my snippets, getting me a cup of coffee, stamping notes, etc.  But is it enough to help them be successful later in life?  I sure hope so.

The challenge was to sew for 1 hour a day for a week.  Well here is what I created!  A fall scrappy skirt!!!  So glad a customer grabbed this up :)  Thanks M.!  And in just 1 hour I created the Bug a pink penguin T-shirt dress.  Try to make a point to try something new every once in a while.  You just might surprise yourself...I know I did!

I absolutely LOVE Halloween.  It's probably my most favorite holiday EVER.  I love the way pumpkins look in pictures with my kids.  I never get a bad shot.  It might be the awesome natural lighting this time of year or something.  I don't know but whatever it is, I love it.  I have been making some bows trying to capture some "Halloweenish style"  What do you think of when Halloween comes around? Candy is probably my family's first thought.  My husband certainly doesn't help matters with bringing a sweet or two home from grocery shopping.  Yes, my husband does the shopping. It just works out this way.  Anyway, my favorite candy at Halloween as a kid was candy corn.  So I made a candy corn inspired bow.  Probably the cutest thing I have ever made!

So it's a sewing challenge over at elsie marley.  I'm joining!  Heck, I'm already sewing stuff...might as well :)  Maybe you would like to join me!  Click on the pict and follow the link.  The info is all there :)  Happy sewing everyone!!!  I would love to see what you can make!
